What do you think about the DeWALT and Makita miter saw?

The DeWALT DW718 12-Inch Double-Bevel Slide Compound Miter Saw takes cut capacity to the next level with the ground-breaking back fence design.

It delivers cut capacity up to 2 x 16 at 90 degrees and will cut up to 6-1/2″ base molding when standing vertically against the fence and supports 6-5/8-inch crown molding nested vertically.

And when it’s time to make bevel cuts, the fence slides out of the way easily.

But how it stacks against the Makita LS1019L ? In my opinon, the Makita is a better choice when it comes to size and design.

As for the DeWALT DW718, it's also designed to deliver quick and accurate bevel cuts. The DeWALT DW718 lets you easily set it up for bevel cuts that measure between 0 and 48 degrees to the left and to the right.

This lets you flip the saw instead of the material you’re working on. It also gives the increased capacity for big jobs. The DW718 has hardened steel bevel stops at 0, 33.9, 45, and 48 degrees on both sides, which makes it a simple process to find and set the most common bevel angles.

The precise miter system’s adjustable stainless steel miter detent plate features 11 positive stops. The DW718 has an easy-to-adjust cam-lock miter handle that delivers quick and accurate miter angles.

Another feature is a convenient detent override, which allows you to adjust the miter setting without the saw slipping into the miter detents. And the DeWALT DW718 has added flexibility because of its big miter capacity – 0 to 60 degrees to the left and 0 to 50 degrees to the right.

Everything about this saw is very high quality. The fit and finish of all the components scream quality. The slide action is effortless.

Adjustments and the locking components therein are very easy and intuitive to use. It's very nicely designed.
